CVU Seattle Presents: Sloane Construction Tour

CVU Seattle Presents: Sloane Construction Tour

Overview

A guided construction tour and happy hour for industry professionals of the upcoming Sloane Apartment Tower by Holland Partner Group

Founded in 1969, the Council on Vertical Urbanism (formerly the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) has grown from a small, research-focused committee into a global network of over a million professionals representing the disciplines of architecture, engineering, construction, planning, real estate, infrastructure, and policy, among numerous others. With offices in Chicago, Shanghai, Toronto, and Venice—and an active presence on nearly every continent—we convene experts, publish trusted data, recognize design excellence, and advance the global discourse on cities and tall buildings

Event Description:

Located at the confluence of the Belltown, South Lake Union, and Denny Triangle neighborhoods, Sloane is a new 45 story apartment tower on a unique triangular parcel at the edge of downtown. Designed by Weber Thompson Architects for Holland Partner Group, the tower’s design is inspired by the folding grids and urban fabric that define the area, capturing that geometry in the massing, facade detailing and landscaping. The 440' project features 442 residential units and around 2,500 SF of retail at grade, along with a new pocket park and open space at the termination of 7th Ave. The rooftop amenity features 360 degree views of the city and Elliott Bay, with a sky lounge facing directly at the space need with a 30' glass wall and sunken living room. Above and below grade parking, along with a small irregularly shaped site, creates on complex mix of uses and program at grade, with above and below grade parking levels. The tour will inlcude a short presentation of the project, tour through the active construction site, and a happy hour hosted by the CVU future leaders group afterward.
