This session will focus on final preparations for the count and include a "mock count" so count admins can see what to expect for the PIT.
This session will focus on the Conducting Stage of the HUD Point-in-Time (PIT) homeless census in which we plan to cover the following topics:
- Switching the count from pre-count mode to live
- Using the messaging features to connect with surveyors.
- How best to use the command center to monitor the count.
- How to get assistance if you run into any issues.
- Shifting count teams on the fly if people don't show up.
- Managing care kits and incentives.
- Ensuring surveyors cover their designated areas.
- Addressing data quality issues and missing data in real time.
- Setting expectations of your jurisdictional leads and setting them up for success.
- Follow-ups by outreach in the days that follow the count.
- Using the PIT to ring the alarm for your community's most vulnerable.
We will host an interactive "mock count" to highlight how this functionality all comes together and leave time to open the meeting for questions and answers.
