Walk to Windsor: Cross the Gordie Howe International Bridge

On Saturday, October 10, you can do something Detroiters haven't been able to do in about half a century: walk out of the United States and into Canada.

Detroit Social Walk Club is leading a guided group crossing of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge, from Detroit into Windsor, Ontario. It is 1.8 miles from path entrance to exit, roughly 45 minutes at a steady pace, 150 feet above the Detroit River, with a skyline view you cannot get from anywhere else.

Every walker gets a Walk to Windsor medal and we take a commemorative group photo. Walk Pass holders are done by about 10:30 AM. Stay and explore Windsor, grab brunch, or walk back to Detroit with the group.

You need a passport, Enhanced Michigan license, or NEXUS card. No document, no crossing. Under 18 can join with a parent or legal guardian, and every walker needs their own document.

50 walkers total. The first 20 are $45. After those sell, the Walk Pass is $55.
