The Joy Chapters
Chapter One: Collecting Little Joys
An Art Journaling + Brunch Mini Retreat
With your hosts and facilitators:
Teresa Rodriguez of Bee Balanced by Teresa
Corinne Crawford of Novel Retreats and Gifts
What if a meaningful life isn’t built through big, extraordinary moments—but through learning to notice and gather the small ones?
A morning cup of coffee.
A beautiful color.
Something that makes you laugh.
A conversation that stays with you.
A moment when you realize, this is good.
The Joy Chapters is a new series of intimate gatherings for women designed to offer something we don't always make enough room for in everyday life: a moment to pause.
A little space to step outside the usual demands, slow down, connect with yourself and other women, create something simply for the pleasure of creating, and notice some of the goodness that can easily get lost in the busyness of our days.
For our first chapter, Collecting Little Joys, we’ll explore the idea that joy often arrives in pieces.
And much like creating a collage, we can begin to notice those pieces, collect them, and discover what they become when we bring them together.
During this relaxed two-hour mini retreat, we’ll enjoy brunch together, spend some time connecting and reflecting, and create an art journal page inspired by the small moments, experiences, people, places, colors, words, and things that bring joy into our lives.
No art experience is needed. This isn't about making something perfect. It's about giving yourself permission to slow down, experiment, notice, and enjoy creating.
Your morning includes
- A guided art journaling experience
- A delicious light brunch from Rebel Hen Cafe in Lincoln
- All art materials and supplies for the morning
- Your completed art journal page to take home
- A 48-page Funto Art journal of your own
- Paint brushes to help you continue your art journaling journey at home
- Time for low pressure creativity, reflection, conversation, and connection with other women
You'll leave with more than something you've made.
Our hope is that these two hours give you a small pause in the rhythm of everyday life—and that you leave feeling a little more connected, a little more inspired, and perhaps a little more aware of the joy that was already tucked into your days.
