Ableton Artist Day

This one's for anyone in Austin who wants to be in the room: no cover, no prerequisites, just an evening built around the artists.

Doors open at 6:00 with a chance to meet the visiting artists and the Ableton Education team face to face. Get hands-on with Ableton hardware, featuring the Ableton Move, set up as a playground just for the night. Starting at 7:30, four artists take the stage for short, performative presentations: part performance, part behind-the-curtain look at how they actually work. The night wraps with an open panel where all four take questions together.

The Artists

Learn from and connect with a lineup of artists and educators leading where music technology and Ableton production are headed next.

• Claire Marie Lim (dolltr!ck) — electronic musician and Ableton Certified Trainer redefining the live electronic singer-songwriter, with a client list that includes Cirque du Soleil and Universal Music Group.
• Cloudchord — Austin's own. A producer and multi-instrumentalist who's toured with Big Gigantic, Tycho, and Lotus, scored a Sundance documentary, and has taught Ableton classes across the country.
• TAETRO — teaching artist and content creator turning music education into video people actually want to watch.
• Tom Hall — LA-based sound artist and USC professor whose modular, DSP-driven work has powered performance systems for Nine Inch Nails and Will.i.am.

Two days. Three events. A lineup built around some of the most inventive people working in music technology today.

The Department of Arts and Entertainment Technologies at UT Austin and Ableton are joining forces for a two-day event exploring where music technology is headed next.

Claire Marie Lim, Cloudchord, TAETRO, Tom Hall, Lawrence Grey, and Francis Preve are coming to UT Austin for a close look at where music production, live performance, and education meet.

The event unfolds in three parts: Ableton Artist Day, a free evening open to the public; Ableton Educator Day, a full day of professional development for K-12 and higher-ed music educators, with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours available for Texas K-12 teachers; and Audio Pixel Collider, an evening performance showcase featuring select artists from earlier in the week.

It's a chance to connect with a community of artists and educators shaping the future of music production.
