Description: This presentation by Dr. Joseph Ponnoly on 'AI Governance and Security Management' will focus on protecting AI systems against silent and unnoticed catastrophic failures. Based on case-studies, the training will cover the following topics:

1. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology stack

2. Governance frameworks and regulations: NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, OECD Principles

3. The AI threat and risk landscape: MITRE ATLAS & STRIDE frameworks.

4. Controls Framework: 2025 OWASP LLM Top 10, Prompt injection defense and defense in depth for adversarial Machine Learning attacks.

5. AI-assisted security.

6. Trust and Resilience Engineering.

7. An overview of ISACA AAISM (Advanced AI Security Management) certification


Instructor Bio:

Dr. Joseph Ponnoly DBA, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, AAISM

Dr. Ponnoly is an is a cybersecurity researcher, management consultant, and corporate trainer focusing on cyber disasters. He is associated with IEEE, ISACA, ISSA, AOM, DMDU Society, and ASRA/ UN Foundation and presents on cybersecurity, AI Security, systemic risks, and decision-making under deep uncertainties. His doctoral dissertation was on 'sensing and sensemaking of early warning signs of cyber disasters in the Information Technology sector'. He was earlier a white-collar crime investigator with CBI-India and worked with Interpol on cybercrime investigations and cyber forensics. He authored the book 'Gateway to the Quantum Age' (2018).


Dr. Ponnoly's current speaking/training engagements include, but are not limited to:


  • September 2026 CYBR.SEC.CON presentation on cybersecurity reimagined in the AI-Quantum Era: Focusing on Systemic Cyber Risks and Resilience Engineering
  • October 2026 UT Austin GAISS AI conference on ‘Continuous Adversarial Resilience Testing for Agentic AI in Critical Infrastructures: A Chaos Engineering Design’
  • Teaching the ISACA Global 'AI Fundamentals Certificate' course at HCU in September/October
  • November 2026 DMDU Society /Rand Corporation Annual conference at Baton Rouge, LA Water Institute on ‘adversarial decision making under deep uncertainties in Agentic AI-based cyber attacks on critical infrastructures: an integrated resilience decision-making framework’


Additionally, Dr. Ponnoly and his esteemed colleague, Professor Leonard Lee of NUS Singapore, are in the process of submitting a collaborative paper for a Risk Institute Conference Australia in on ‘systemic cyber failures: a dependency graph analysis of cyber incidents for adaptive resilience engineering’
