Title: Representing Clients in Eggshell Audits: What to do when there are no good options

Summary: A deep dive into the intricacies of audit defense strategy for tricky audits where a taxpayer has omitted substantial income, or has substantially overstated their deductions, among other issues

Speaker: Dashiell Shapiro

Brief bio: Dashiell Shapiro is a tax partner at Shartsis Friese. He represents individuals and companies at all stages of tax controversy, from sensitive audit inquiries to administrative protests and IRS and FTB appeals. He has significant experience litigating tax matters in federal district courts, federal bankruptcy courts, the United States Tax Court, as well as before California’s State Board of Equalization and Office of Tax Appeals. Prior to moving into private practice, Dash spent seven years at the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division litigating tax controversies in federal courts across the country.
