Front Porch Beatnik (alternative rock / Berlin)

Front Porch Beatnik is an alternative rock music trio from Berlin.
Leadsinger Christian Schidlowski, bassist Dr Leben and drummer Lucy Kaewprasert play songs sometimes powerful, sometimes melancholic, reflecting the world in a warm but deliberately distorted and simple sound. The deeply personal lyrics deal with themes such as friendship, nostalgic memories and life in a world plastered with ambiguities.
Influences come from bands such as Pixies, Eels, Beck and The Velvet Underground.
As a documentary filmmaker, singer Christian Schidlowski was prevented from working during the pandemic due to the inability to travel - and used the forced break as an opportunity to resume his childhood dream of composing and recording indie rock music, which he had given up for filmmaking. During the months of lockdown, he wrote various songs and quickly found musical support from Dr. Leben and Lucy Kaewprasert once the pandemic had subsided.
