The Prepared Life: A Financial Resilience System

Stability Before Crisis. Preparedness Before Panic.

The Prepared Life is a 12-week, hands-on financial resilience course designed to help individuals and families become better prepared for both expected expenses and unexpected financial disruptions. Rather than focusing only on traditional budgeting, the course teaches participants how to build a practical system for financial stability, preparedness, and recovery.

Participants begin by assessing their current level of financial resilience and identifying areas that may leave them vulnerable during an emergency. Over the 12 weeks, they work through four stages of the Prepared Life system: Assess, Stabilize, Prepare, and Build.

Through guided activities and required course materials, participants will learn how to:

  • Assess their current financial condition and establish a Financial Resilience Score.
  • Understand income, expenses, savings, debt, and financial obligations.
  • Develop emergency and sinking funds for expected and unexpected expenses.
  • Prepare for job loss, reduced income, emergencies, and other financial disruptions.
  • Organize essential financial records and information.
  • Identify financial risks and strengthen areas of vulnerability.
  • Develop practical short- and long-term financial goals.
  • Create a personal Financial Emergency Plan.
  • Build a customized Prepared Life Financial Resilience Plan.
  • Measure progress by comparing their Week 1 and Week 12 Financial Resilience Assessments.

How the Course Works

This is an interactive course rather than a lecture series. Participants will work on their own financial preparedness throughout the program using assessments, worksheets, planning exercises, discussions, real-life scenarios, progress trackers, and weekly action steps.

Each week builds upon the previous session, allowing participants to develop their Prepared Life system one component at a time.

By Week 12, participants will leave with more than financial information. They will have created a practical system they can continue using and updating as their circumstances change.

Registration and Course Materials

Workshop participation is free. Required course materials are purchased separately for The Prepared Life: A Financial Resilience System
