The FIU Latin Jazz Ensemble brings Latin jazz to life with driving rhythms, spirited improvisation, and music spanning the Americas.
The FIU Latin Jazz Ensemble brings the dynamic sound of Latin jazz to The Wertheim, drawing on Afro-Caribbean, South American, and North American traditions. Directed by Dr. Michael Eckroth, the ensemble performs music by influential Latin jazz composers alongside original arrangements, featuring driving percussion and spirited improvisation from FIU’s outstanding student musicians.
