BILLIE & BEYOND featuring vocalist Kamilah

The Billie Holiday Theatre returns with its all women music series, BILLIE & BEYOND; an evening of live performances inspired by the artisty and activism of its namesake Billie Holiday.

Headlining this edition is Kamilah, a dynamic vocalist whose songwriting draws on love, self-discovery, and advocacy, with a sound that recalls Lauryn Hill and Aretha Franklin. Her latest single, "Electricity," showcases her gift for sonic poetry. "What I make is as eclectic as my mom's tastes," she says.

The evening opens with Juanialys, a New York City based singer and songwriter known for her soulful sound, captivating stage presence, and ability to connect with diverse audiences. She has performed at notable venues and events including the Apollo Theater, SOB’s, Brooklyn Bazaar, Several NYC festivals, conferences, and corporate events. Through her music, Juanialys creates memorable experiences while using her voice to inspire, uplift, and bring people together.

The night will be hosted by poet and performer Shanelle Gabriel and DJ NYLA will provide music throughout the evening.

Part concert, part cultural gathering, BILLIE & BEYOND celebrates the next generation of artists shaping the future of Black music and creative expression.
