An Evening with Artist Richard Aguilar: The Inspiration of Jackie Robinson

Thursday, November 5 | 7:00 pm

Join us for an intimate conversation with Los Angeles–based artist Richard Aguilar as he discusses his dramatic new portrait of Jackie Robinson, Jackie Robinson, I am a Man. Aguilar will be joined by host of Our Society TV, Allen Shay, a close friend of the Robinson family. Together, they will discuss inspiration and the artistic process, and Robinson’s enduring impact that inspires so many on and off the baseball field.

In 2026, Richard Aguilar gifted his Jackie Robinson, I am a Man portrait to Pasadena Museum of History. Rendered in a vibrant kaleidoscope of acrylics, the painting captures Robinson in a definitive pose—his eyes reflecting an unyielding commitment to equal justice.

Program will begin at 7:00 pm; PMH Galleries will be open for viewing at 6:00 pm.

Space is limited; advance reservations required.
