Big Band Swing at Tompkins Corners
Private Stock Jazz Performs an Outdoor Fall Benefit for TCCC
Tompkins Corners Cultural Center will present Marc Pekowsky’s 18-piece big band, Private Stock Jazz, in an exciting outdoor concert and Fall Benefit on Sunday, September 27, at 2:00 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, October 4.
Private Stock Jazz offers an exceptional collection of jazz, from legendary standards and classic swing to timeless masterpieces. The ensemble features seasoned professional musicians with a wide range of jazz styles and a passion for big band music.
Band leader and conductor Marc Pekowsky created Private Stock Jazz in honor of his teacher, mentor, and friend William “Bill” Ellington, a bassist, composer, and arranger who performed with the seminal Latin Jazz Quintet. Pekowsky has performed with artists and ensembles including Wynton Marsalis, the Saturday Night Live Band, Pete Seeger, and the Broadway production of Cabaret.
A longtime friend of Tompkins Corners, Pekowsky and Private Stock Jazz honor TCCC’s commitment to bringing music, the arts, and community together in Putnam Valley. They are happy to present this concert as a benefit, with all proceeds benefiting Tompkins Corners. Enjoy an exceptional afternoon of Big Band Music, all while supporting TCCC!
