🍂 Harvest Haven: Fall Homesteading Workshop 🐝🌿

Fall is coming, and there’s plenty to get ready around the homestead! Join us at Cajun Corral Farm on Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM for another hands-on Harvest Haven Homesteading Workshop.

This month, we’re continuing some of the skills we started together while adding a few new ones to get the homestead and pantry ready for the cooler months.

🐝 Winterizing the Bees — Let’s talk about preparing our hives for the changing season and helping our bees head into winter strong.

🥫 Canning Continued — We’ll keep building on our canning skills, answering questions and getting more comfortable preserving food at home.

🌿 Dry Canning for Teas & Herbal Seasonings — Learn ways to preserve dried herbs, teas and homemade seasoning blends so you can enjoy what you grow long after the garden season ends.

🍳 Cast Iron Skillets — Part 2 — We’re adding onto our cast iron series with more care, cooking and practical tips for keeping those skillets working for generations.

🍎 Fermentation Series — Let’s Get That Cider Vinegar Going! — Our fermentation journey continues, and this month we’re starting homemade cider vinegar.

And knowing us, there will probably be a few extra homesteading tips, stories and “while we’re at it…” lessons thrown in too!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 KIDS ARE WELCOME!
Harvest Haven is a family-friendly workshop. Children are welcome to attend with their families, but parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times, especially around hot equipment, canning supplies, bees and other farm activities.

💵 Cost: $10 per family

🪑 What to Bring:
Bring a chair, pen and paper for notes, something to drink, and plenty of questions. Come dressed comfortably for a working farm and the weather.

🌦️ RAIN OR SHINE!
A little Louisiana weather isn't going to stop us.

Come learn, ask questions, get your hands involved and spend a few hours with folks who believe homesteading knowledge is meant to be shared, practiced and passed down.
