Can I bring food and water?

Unfortunately, no food and beverages are allowed in the historic house museum, with the exception of bottled water that must be left on the porch. However, the park has multiple picnic tables guests are welcome to use either before or after their tour.

Is the tour ADA accessible?

All the historic structures are ramp accessible and there is a golf cart to assist guests. The second floor of the historic house is unfortunately only accessible through stairs, but staff has high-quality photographs to share with guests and can conduct that part of the tour on the first floor.

Guided tour of the 13 acre historical park and legendary Lawrence home.

Opal Lawrence Historical Park offers daily guided tours of the Lawrence family farmhouse. Originally built in 1874, the family lived in the house for over 100 years. Guests can explore restored home and grounds, learning about life in late nineteenth century rural Mesquite. Of the original 640 acre farm, 13 acres remain today. The park includes an 1886 lovestock barn, an 1845 log cabin from the area, and a nature trail.
