The Art of Sensual Sovereignty Volume I: The First Movement
First in a workshop series.
Sensual sovereignty is the capacity to read your own body accurately to know what you want, to feel when you've had enough, and to return to yourself without asking permission. It isn't a mood or a mindset. It's a literacy, and like any art, it lives in the body long before it makes sense to the mind.
Most of us were never taught to read our own instrument. We were taught to override it. To push through, to stay available, to treat exhaustion as a personal failure rather than information. This workshop teaches the opposite skill: how to take a reading, honor what it says, and refill from a source that was never metered in the first place.
We do it through movement, because movement is where the body tells the truth fastest. You will practice this in real time, on the mat, in your own body.
Not as theory, but as something you will have already done by the time you leave the room.
No yoga background required. You need a body and a willingness to feel it.
ARC OF THE SESSION
Opening — stillness and breath. We begin by filling before we spend. This is where you take your first reading of the day and learn what a reading actually feels like from the inside.
Moving practice — vinyasa. The body reports continuously: heat, breath, appetite, edge. I'll teach you to read it while it's speaking rather than after the fact, and I'll name what's happening as it happens. This is also where the limit gets met honestly not pushed past, not avoided.
The application — I walk you through my own process: what I listen for, how I read it, and what I do with the answer. Then we take it off the mat. The same reading governs how you eat, how you rest, how you spend your attention, how you say yes, and how you say no. That translation is the heart of the series.
Closing — stillness and breath. We end the way we began, refilled rather than spent.
WHAT STUDENTS LEAVE WITH
• A daily practice for taking their own reading before the day takes it for them
• The ability to recognize their own limit before they hit it
• A breath practice for returning to baseline when they've overspent
• A working understanding of how the whole cycle applies off the mat
• Language for what they've been feeling and couldn't name
WHO IT'S FOR
Anyone who is tired in a way sleep doesn't fix. Anyone who gives more than they receive and has stopped noticing. All levels welcome, no prior practice required.
