TWO EXHIBITIONS, ONE HOMELAND
A Single Word
George Harb
From Gaza to Gaza
Works by artists in Gaza, curated by Eleanor Goldfield
These two exhibitions meet at a single conviction: that Palestinian life cannot be reduced to its destruction.
A Single Word looks backward and inward. George Harb’s family archive – photographs and home videos spanning nearly a century, from Ramallah and Jerusalem to the diaspora – the exhibition recovers the ordinary: childhood, celebration, ritual, a family’s steady relationship to its land. This is not an archive of loss but rather evidence that joy, dignity, and interior life have always belonged to Palestinians, uninterrupted by occupation, and that they persist because Palestinians persist.
From Gaza to Gaza looks outward and forward. Born from grassroots fundraising events held across the U.S. and Europe since 2024, it features the work of six artists in Gaza – art made and sold in the midst of genocide, functioning as independent media, as organizing, as sumud. Where Harb’s archive proves continuity across a century, this project insists on continuity through the present emergency: Palestinian creative life refusing to stop, even now.
