Your senses remember what your mind forgets.

Scent Lab is a 90-minute journey through slow looking, botanical scent, and hands-on mandala-making

Developed by curator Carlos Moreno and neuroaesthetics researcher Dr. Niru Kumar, in response to Xochi Solis's exhibition In the Days of Various Light.

Private gallery viewing experience including slow looking, olfactory scent curation, neuroaesthetics research session, and botanical mandala making.

Mandala Making

A centuries-old form, and a modern tool for the psyche.

Used for centuries in Buddhist practice, the mandala was later taken up by Carl Jung as an important tool for shadow work. Current neuroscience research has confirmed the brain-health benefits of this kind of embodied, meditative making. Here it becomes a way to hold and process what the scents and the artwork bring up.

Your senses remember what your mind forgets.

Developed in response to Xochi Solis's In the days of various light, each 90-minute session moves through guided slow looking, curated scent prompts, and botanical mandala-making — a journey through the senses and psyche. Co-facilitated by Carlos Moreno and Dr. Niru Kumar.
