That is a perfect reason to come. You don't need a specific problem or question. Fresh air, community, and a friendly ear are exactly what this walk is for.

We've tried other parent groups and felt judged or out of place. Is this different?

This group is intentionally small and led by someone who has spent 30+ years working with families navigating complex challenges. You will not be offered unsolicited advice or made to feel like you're doing it wrong.

My child has sensory sensitivities or can be unpredictable in groups — will they be welcome?

Absolutely and wholeheartedly yes. Amanda has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and their families, and this walk is specifically designed to be a low-pressure, flexible environment. There is no "too much" here.

Will you always be the one leading the walks?

Yes — Amanda Hyer leads every session personally. That's the whole point of keeping groups small.

I'm a nanny / grandparent / foster parent — is this really for me too?

100% yes. Any caregiver who loves a child is welcome here.

What is your refund policy?

We don't offer refunds, but if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance we're happy to apply your $25 as a credit toward a future walk. Just email us at amanda@kitchensinkparenting.com.

I have a specific concern I'm embarrassed to bring up in a group — is that okay?

All conversations are kept within the group and held with care. Nothing is too small, too messy, or too sensitive. That's exactly why we're here. You can also email Amanda ahead of time if you'd like to give her a heads up.

Can I bring more than one child?

Yes — the $25 fee covers your whole family, however many little ones you're wrangling.

What ages is this for?

This walk is designed for families with children from birth through 3 or 4. If you're not sure if it's a fit, just email us! We will be building community activities for older children soon.

My child isn't in a stroller anymore — can we still come?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! The walk is stroller-friendly but not stroller-required. Walking toddlers and older siblings are very welcome.

What if it rains?

We'll send a message through Eventbrite by 8am if a walk needs to be cancelled or moved. We'll do our best to reschedule or offer a credit toward a future walk.

Do I need to register every week or just once?

Each walk is a separate registration — just sign up for the week you plan to attend. You're welcome to come every week!

Where exactly do we meet within the park?

Park or walk toward Scheitler Rec Center playground. We will be under the trees, I will have a purple Kitchen Sink Parenting Shirt on. If you're not sure where to find us, just email amanda@kitchensinkparenting.com before the walk and we'll help you locate us!
