2026 FIU Music Festival: FIU Jazz All-Stars: A Wertheim Homecoming
Six standout FIU jazz alumni return to the stage with the FIU Studio Jazz Band for The Wertheim’s 30th anniversary.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts, six of the School’s accomplished jazz alumni return for a special performance with the FIU Studio Jazz Band.
Trumpeter Jean Caze, guitarist Aaron Lebos, pianist Kemuel Roig, bassist Kai Sanchez, saxophonist Dave Fernandez, and drummer Rodolfo Zuniga have established wide-ranging careers as performers, composers, bandleaders, recording artists, and educators. Collectively, their credits span more than 30 albums and recording projects as leaders and co-leaders, along with dozens of additional recordings—including Grammy- and Latin Grammy-winning projects. Their achievements include major national and international jazz competition honors, acclaimed releases, and appearances at prominent venues and festivals around the world. They have performed or recorded with celebrated artists including Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Estefan, Arturo Sandoval, Julio Iglesias, Paquito D’Rivera, Randy Brecker, and many others.
