Make it with MoFA: D.I.Y. Kitchen Lithography

Make it with MoFA: D.I.Y. Kitchen Lithography

Overview

Inspired by “Friendly Arbitration,” we will be exploring our first form of lithography printmaking: D.I.Y. Kitchen lithography!

Inspired by the lithographs in “Friendly Arbitration,” we will be exploring our first form of lithography printmaking: D.I.Y. Kitchen lithography! This workshop will be held on Saturday, September 12, from 12–2 pm.

Using aluminum foil and soda, we will make illustrations directly on foil and print multiples of your designs. Lithography is based on the principle that water and oil do not mix; we will use wax-based pigments to draw our illustrations, then use water as a resist to apply ink.

“Friendly Arbitration” is on view at MoFA until Saturday, December 12, 2026. We will host many printmaking workshops while the exhibition is on display, so keep an eye out!

Pre-registration is required; the link is in our linkin.bio. Parking will be available in the Call St Garage, and we will provide all materials.
