Culture Night at Kunstverein Aughrim

Culture Night at Kunstverein Aughrim brings together artist Jenny Brady and composer Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh for an evening of live performance from 6–8pm on Friday 18 September 2026.

Marking the opening of Brady's exhibition Reference Library 2010–2026, the programme offers an opportunity to encounter two distinct artistic practices in dialogue, exploring the relationships between voice, listening, language and sound.

The evening begins at Kunstverein Aughrim for a welcome and introdution to the work of moving image artist Jenny Brady. Following an artist talk attendees will walk together to The Church of St John the Evangelist for a live performance by composer Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh, whose practice moves between composition and improvisation, using repetition, resonance and sustained tones to create attentive listening environments that extend and reframe the concerns of Brady's work.

Kunstverein Aughrim is located on Main Street, Aughrim, Co Wicklow, Y14 K120, Ireland.

Parking
There is limited on street parking in the village with one accessible parking spot outside Day Break, across the road from Kunstverein Aughrim.

Access
Kunstverein Aughrim is not step free, it has five steps at the entrance, with no handrails. Kunstverein Aughrim is located in the centre of the village, with busy roads either side. The footpaths are wide and uneven. There is a curb 40 meters from the entrance. Kunstverein Aughrim has one inaccessible bathroom.

The Church of St. John the Evangelist is 300 meters from Kunstverein Aughrim. We will walk to the church together (it is 4 minutes of walking distance). Please dress for the weather.
