Schubert with Clara Osowski and Timothy Lovelace

Concerts by the Creek welcomes mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski and pianist Timothy Lovelace for an intimate evening of song celebrating their new album, Schubert Lieder.

Recorded in Minneapolis, the album brings Osowski and Lovelace together for 19 songs by Franz Schubert—some familiar, others lesser known—that showcase the remarkable range of one of the great composers of Lieder. Across the collection, the music moves effortlessly between tenderness and longing, playfulness and energy, and moments of striking drama and reflection.

Osowski’s expressive attention to text and elegant phrasing are paired with Lovelace’s lively and sensitive playing, allowing voice and piano to work together as equal partners in telling each song’s story. The result is music that can be intimate and reflective one moment, spirited and dramatic the next.
