Last Splash of Summer: MER-CRAFTING, creating trinkets of the sea

As part of Last Splash of Summer, Moonlight & Mawazo and Coney Island USA invite you to Mer-Crafting: Create a Token Worthy of the Sea, a free hands-on jewelry-making activity led by Darlynn Marks, creator of SewLynn Jewelry and Designs.

Whether you're a mermaid, merman, sea-creature enthusiast, crafter or simply someone who wants to make something fun and imaginative, you're invited to join us.

Meet Your Mer-Crafting Artist

Darlynn Marks is a seamstress, jewelry designer and maker specializing in handmade clothing and jewelry, including women-centered and African-inspired designs, custom garments, alterations and wearable art.

For Last Splash of Summer, Darlynn will guide participants through a hands-on jewelry-making activity inspired by the imaginative spirit of mermaid and sea culture.

Participants will have the opportunity to create a special token worthy of the sea to take home.

Darlynn will also have a selection of her handmade creations available for purchase during the event, including mermaid-inspired jewelry boxes, jewelry and other unique trinkets.

Supporting participating artists and makers is encouraged but no purchase is required to participate in the workshop.

Space Is Limited

The Mer-Crafting workshop is FREE but space is limited.

Because of the limited capacity, advance Eventbrite registration is highly encouraged. Registration helps us prepare enough materials and gives you the best opportunity to participate.

Mer-Crafting is part of Last Splash of Summer: A Mermaid, Sea-Creature and Storytelling Celebration, presented through a creative collaboration between Moonlight & Mawazo and Coney Island USA.
