Riffs and runs can add style, personality, and emotional impact to your singing—but for many vocalists, they can also feel intimidating, inconsistent, or out of reach.

In this masterclass, we’ll break down the mechanics behind riffs and runs so you can approach them with clarity, control, and confidence. You’ll learn how to hear them, practice them, and execute them cleanly—without tension or guesswork.

We’ll explore how riffs and runs are constructed, how to improve accuracy, agility, and timing, and how to practice them in a way that actually sticks. You’ll also learn how to adapt runs to your own voice, so they feel natural and expressive—not forced or overdone. Through guided exercises and real musical examples, you’ll try riffs and runs in real time, building coordination and flexibility while developing your ear.

You’ll leave with practical tools, targeted exercises, and a clearer understanding of how to incorporate riffs and runs into your singing with ease and musicality.

Bio:

Adrienne is a contemporary-music vocal instructor who has been teaching voice since 2009. Adrienne brings a technical approach to singing in mix, and believes in building a large vocal skills toolbox. She helps vocalists reduce tension, sing efficiently, develop power, improve tone, gain consistency, and sing smoothly in mix across their entire range.
