Join us for a riveting evening as Dr. Charley Binkow uncovers the story of the 1381 Peasants’ Revolt—one of the largest and most explosive popular uprisings in medieval English history.

In the summer of 1381, more than 10,000 Englishmen marched on London, burning manor houses, storming prisons, and executing royal officials. Led by the charismatic Wat Tyler, these rebels demanded an end to serfdom, equality before the law, and a radically different social order that threatened the very foundations of medieval society.

Dr. Binkow will guide us through the causes, course, and consequences of this extraordinary uprising, revealing how a movement of ordinary laborers briefly seemed poised to overturn a centuries-old hierarchy and helped mark the beginning of the end of the medieval era.

Dr. Binkow earned his PhD in American History from Boston University in 2023 and currently teaches at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.
