Touch Grass Day-Tripper: Autumn Equinox Stroll (September 26th)
Day-Tripper: Cobham and Luddesdown Circular - 16km - moderate - September 26th 10:30am
Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.
Join us for a hike into the Kent countryside, the fruit bowl of England where we can contemplate the late Summer harvest and coming Autumn equinox where the day and night are equal in length.
In ancient agricultural communities, this period heralded the second harvest, a crucial threshold of balance before the descent into the darker half of the year. We will hike through ancient woodland, rolling farmland and have picturesque views over the Kent Downs.
We will spend an extended day in nature appreciating the variety of flora and wildlife that we encounter along the way. What bounty and balance will we find?
The walk will be led by Georgia.

About Touch Grass
Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.
We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation — they're about empowerment, healing, and forging meaningful connections.
Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this. We deserve joyful, safe access to the emotional well-being and physical health benefits of nature too.
We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
