N.E.W.S. Everything Rises and Falls On You: Claim Your Career (In-Person)

N.E.W.S. Everything Rises and Falls On You: Claim Your Career (In-Person)

Overview

This interactive session (3 hrs) empowers emerging leaders to claim their careers, grow as leaders and create purposeful professional paths.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This session is designed and presented by Gwen Webber-McLeod, President/CEO Gwen, Inc. Gwen works with hundreds of emerging leaders annually. She inspires those who are 2 - 5 years in their careers to begin developing the philosophies, skills, and behaviors of effective leaders. Gwen offers that embracing the concept of "claiming your career" as a leadership philosophy is foundational to creating a career that not only helps you grow professionally, but enables you to live in and on your self-defined purpose.

Please note: This session is designed with early-career professionals in mind. Although this is intended for those 2–5 years into their careers, anyone wishing to claim their career is welcome!

KEY LEARNING TOPICS

Claiming your career requires you to also develop specific leadership skills and behaviors to act on this philosophy. During this work session you will:

  • Hear the Gwen, Inc. leadership model, Confidence, Competence, Courage, and Calm to provide a framework for developing as a leader
  • Discuss why becoming known as a high-trust and high performing team member is central to creating a successful career
  • Discuss how these philosophies, skills, and behaviors help you create a career that not only helps you grow professionally, but enables you to live in and on your self-defined purpose.
  • Take time to identify how you can apply the work-session learning in your careers following the work session

In preparation for this session, we invite you to take a few moments to reflect on the following:

  1. Envision your career 3–5 years from now. Where do you hope to be, and what would you like your career to look like?
  2. Consider the title of this session. What comes to mind when you read it? What does it mean to you?

Gwen works from a position of partnership. She believes the shared expertise, knowledge, and skills will make this leadership development work session a quality experience. I am committed to your success.

Please feel free to contact Paris Babers (pbabers@cnycf.org) with questions on the event or if you need additional information.
