“In It For the Dough” | Spain

September 22th, 2026

Written by Cristina Clemente and Marc Angelet

Translated by Steven Capsuto

Directed by Kyle M. Stafford

In partnership with The Theatre School at DePaul University

Synopsis:

In this crowd-pleasing comedy from Spain, three lives change when Bruno, Nina, and Laura attend a strange bread-making workshop run by celebrity baker Tony Rocca. Between laughs and sourdough, In It for the Dough playfully explores serious questions about the human need to believe in something or someone.

The play premiered in Barcelona in 2022 to rave reviews and enjoyed a successful three-season run in Madrid (2023–2025). It has been staged or has upcoming productions in Argentina, Bulgaria, Ecuador, and Panama, among other countries.
