Wine 101 is a series run by Liz's bartender Zoe where you'll begin to break down and understand how to talk about wine.
You know what you like in wine. Your best friend might know what to order you. Your dog may even be able to sniff out the right glass. But how do you translate your wants to the bartender that you just met? How do you grab the right bottle off the shelf? What are all of these arbitrary words that people keep throwing at you, and what do they really mean? Getting to know any subject means entering into a whole new vocabulary- terroir, acid, musk, volcanic ash, casks- and learning these words is the first step to communicating.
Wine 101 is a series run by Liz's bartender Zoe where you'll begin to break down and understand how to talk about wine, identify what you like and what you don't, and get an image of the history and presence of wine in our world. And if nothing else, you'll learn how to a bring a wine to the dinner party that you can be proud about. While covering wine through taste and experience, these classes will also keep a focus on wine making processes and the beverages political history, fluctuating class status, and cultural effects.
Ticket includes tastes of 4-5 wines.
