Two Bristol-rooted bands bring a taste of the city’s thriving groove-driven jazz scene to London, live at SJQ, Dalston.

Box fresh Bristol and London based 4-piece; Sungrass are ready to cook up a storm. Drawing inspiration from the melodic sensibilities of contemporary jazz artists such as The RH Factor, Pat Metheny and Butcher Brown, their original music also leans into influences from Gospel, Fusion, and Soul. At times sincere and heartfelt, at others blistering with energy, this group is not one to miss.

SEMPER - 9:45-10:45pm

Semper is a Bristol based nu jazz sextet. Drawing on influences from Yussef Dayes, Butcher Brown and Athletic Progression, their original compositions interweaves high energy grooves, meditative jazz and electronic influences. After their year long residency at the Gallimaufry in Bristol and London debut sending off founder members Ben and Reuben at the CLF art lounge last year, Semper returns to London with a fiery new rhythm section and an exciting announcement.
