After5NewYork - Your Brain is Lying To You: The Art of Hidden Details
How our brains overlook, misinterpret, and fill in hidden details, revealing why we cannot always trust what we see.
A Conversation on Art, Perception, and the Details We Miss
Join an illustrator, writer, and world builder for Your Brain is Lying To You: The Art of Hidden Details, an engaging exploration of how visual storytelling can shape what we notice, what we overlook, and how we interpret the worlds around us. Together, we'll explore the hidden details embedded in art, comics, and world building and how our brains use assumptions, patterns, and context to make sense of what we see.
What We'll Cover:
• How we see and interpret visual information - Explore how our brains process images and why we can overlook details that are right in front of us.
• The power of hidden details - Discover and learn how artists use visual clues, background elements, and subtle details to create deeper stories and meanings.
• How world building changes what we notice - Examine how carefully constructed environments can influence our perception and encourage us to look beyond the obvious.
Whether you're an artist, comic book fan, storyteller, or simply curious about how we experience the world around us, you'll leave with a new appreciation for the details hiding in plain sight.
Don't miss this chance to connect with your After5Society.
