Join us for an evening celebrating our scholars and empowering educational access.
Join us for the READ Project Inaugural Fundraising Gala, an important event dedicated to supporting the mission of the READ Project. The gala will take place at 1150 22nd St NW on September 18, 2026 at 6:30 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington DC.
The READ Project is a nonprofit that aims to eliminate the cost barrier for refugees seeking higher education. Through tuition scholarships and direct advocacy with universities, we support vulnerable students in accomplishing their dreams of attending university. To date, we have supported dozens of students from Palestine, Afghanistan, Haiti, Yemen, and more. For many of these students, READ is the only available avenue for tuition assistance and advocacy as the vast majority of scholarship opportunities require formal legal status.
Guests will enjoy an evening featuring a VIP cocktail hour with a silent auction of items representing the regions where our students are from. Guests will then enjoy a delicious dinner and evening program emceed by talented attorney and comedian, Yasmine Elhady, while listening to stories from our scholars and remarks by our founder.
The night will conclude with an opportunity to invest in a successful and supportive future for emerging scholars.
