Reverse Appliqué Your Stains Away

Did you get a coffee stain on your favorite t-shirt or is your trusty denim jacket wearing and tearing? Did you receive some swag from your job that you'd wear if it didn't have a coporate logo on it? Learn how to mend your clothes with this reverse appliqué technique in this craft workshop in Seattle. Sounds complicated, but it's not! Especially with a friendly instructor to help your craft with confidence.

In this class, your instructor, Rosalie Gale, will teach you a simple way to hand stitch pretty appliqué patterns onto your clothing. Reverse appliqué is an excellent way to mend clothing that has been stained or ripped. Bring a couple of items that were destined for the trash but you still love with at least half of your heart. We'll plan a design, pick fabrics and hand stitch our pieces to salvage our favorite clothing pieces from the landfill. If you would rather not bring a clothing item, we will have scrap fabrics for you to practice the technique.

We will learn the running stitch, back stitch and reverse chain stitch in this beginner friendly class.Learn this useful skill to save some money and create less waste with your wardrobe. This class not only makes for a sustainable hobby, but you'll also add some color and creativity to your day which will lift your mood and stimulate your brain! If you cannot attend class for any reason up to 48 hours before the class, an exchange to another Ugly Baby workshop will be offered. After that time, no refunds or exchanges are issued out of respect for the teachers who purchase and prepare supplies based on the number of attendees.

Our current Covid protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants.
