🎤 Speaker: Prof. Drew McClellan
Join us for an eye-opening evening on how filmmakers turn images into powerful stories. In this engaging Lectures on Tap session, Prof. Drew McClellan will unpack how visual strategy and cinematic design communicate thoughts, emotions, and ideas on screen.
Through close analysis of still images and iconic scenes from classic and contemporary films, you’ll discover the “secret” visual language directors, cinematographers, production designers, and editors use to guide emotions, deepen narrative, and choreograph the viewer’s eye throughout the frame.
Whether you’re a filmmaker, film lover, designer, student, or simply curious why movies “feel” the way they do, this talk offers an accessible, inspiring look at the architecture of cinematic storytelling.
Prof. Drew McClellan is an award-winning educator, filmmaker, and visual strategist, an adjunct professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, and Chair of the Cinematic Arts Department at LACHSA, home to the nation’s top-ranked high school cinematic arts program.
