Overview

Nature-Based Resilience Leadership: From Community Practice to Scalable Impact is an interdisciplinary executive education course.

This continuing education event forms part of the Tulane University Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy's Fall Institute and is taking place in New Orleans at Tulane's School of Social Work downown Campus.

When:

October 15th 9:00am-5:00pm

October 16th 9:00am-5:00pm

October 17th 9:00am-5:00pm

October 15 will be an experiental learning experience led by Todd Reynolds, Executive Director of Groundwork New Orleans as participants visit nature-based solution implementation sites across New Orleans.

Continuing Education Credits: Receive one of the following continuing education credits and a certificate of completion from the Tulane University Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy:

Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) - 12 CEC hours

American Institute of Architects (AIA) - 24 HSW Learning Units

Ecological Society of America (ESA) - 4 Category I(a) CE hours


Pricing: The registration fee for this training is $2,000 and includes participation in the training as well as the respective Continuing Education (CE) credits.

Louisiana Community-Based Nonprofit & Public Service Discount: Individuals working for a Louisiana community-based nonprofit organization or a Louisiana state/local position are eligible for a $500 discount, reducing the registration fee to $1,500. To receive the discount code, contact the event organizers for organizational verification before registering. Registration closes on 9/30/2026 11:59 PM CST or until capacity is reached.

Location: Nature-Based Resilience will take place at the Tulane School of Social Work’s Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy, located at 127 Elk Place, New Orleans, LA 70112, near the intersection of Canal Street and Elk Place in Downtown New Orleans.

Parking: The school primarily uses the paid Saratoga Garage which connects TSSW with Tulane Medical Center. There should be plenty of parking available in the Saratoga Garage. There are also several other pay surface lots and limited street parking around the building.

The venue is conveniently accessible by car, on foot, and by public transportation. Several bus and streetcar routes serve the area, with stops located directly in front of or within a short walking distance of the building.
