What is The Atlanta Tap Jam?

The Atlanta Tap Jam is a single day dance event created by, and for, Atlanta Tap Dancers! Expect multi level tap dance workshops, technique, Improv jams, and get the chance to work with Tap Dancers local to the Atlanta area.

What age/level is this event geared towards?

Accepted Answer

All levels and all ages! We highly encourage any and all Atlanta (and surrounding area) Tap Dancers to attend. Our one ask is that any dancer attending, is fully capable of handling themselves.

What classes are you offering?

Accepted Answer

We're currently offering 2 tracks based on experience level! A Beginner/Intermediate track (3 classes), and an Intermediate/Advanced track (3 classes). We recommend dancers with 0-3 years of Tap experience take the Beg/Int track, and dancers with 4+ years of experience take the Int/Adv track.

What special events are you offering?

We're currently offering an all levels Tap Dance Jam, and a Film Session. The Jam will give dancers a chance to freestyle/Improvise with other dancers in a fun and safe environment, and the Film Session will give dancers the chance to have material from the event professionally videotaped.

Question 5

How will registration work?

Accepted Answer

You will walk in to the lobby and be greeted, give your and/or the dancers name to our registration table/attendant, and you'll be provided with a wristband! That wristband will be the dancers ticket to all associated classes/events for the day.

As a parent, can I participate?

Accepted Answer

If you dance and purchase a package, then yes! If not, unfortunately non-dancers aren't allowed in class spaces due to capacity, and keeping a distraction free environment. There is a nice lobby area free to use, and plenty to do/eat in the area as well if you need to kill some time!

Where do I park?

There is designated business parking in the front, and to the side of the building.

When should I arrive to check in?

Accepted Answer

Ideally at least 10-15 mins before the event starts, to make sure the process goes smoothly, and you/your dancer doesn't miss any classes!
