24th Street Community Garden Day March 2027
Join us in the school garden for a fun day filled with planting, weeding, harvesting, and more! All ages welcome, no experience required.
Volunteer with Garden School Foundation and come get your hands dirty at our next Community Garden Day!
Why: Our volunteers play a vital role in the work that we do at GSF. Your volunteer efforts help keep our gardens beautiful and edible throughout the school year. Your hard work makes it possible for our students to enjoy the garden and harvest herbs and veggies year-round for cooking classes. Our volunteers not only enhance the educational experience of our students but also help share the magical world of gardening with kids and their families across LA.
Who: Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental awareness, and community health.
What to Expect: Mulching, watering, weeding, planting beds, pruning trees, sign painting, and more!
What's Required:
- Volunteers should wear close-toe shoes and loose, comfy clothes that are school-appropriate.
- We encourage volunteers to bring their own water bottles and sun protection.
- Light refreshments and water will be provided. We'll provide all the necessary tools, training, and supplies. You don't need any gardening experience to participate - just a willingness to dig in and get those hands dirty!
- We'll be in the garden rain or shine!
- There is ample street parking by the school. GSF will have a table set up in front of the school where we will check you in and ask you to sign our Volunteer Waiver.
