Long before she became one of America's greatest poets, Dickinson was an accomplished botanist who carefully collected and preserved more than 400 plant specimens in a remarkable herbarium. This engaging presentation, led by Southeastern Grasslands Institute, explores how her deep knowledge of plants, flowers, and gardens shaped her poetry, revealing the powerful relationship between observation, creativity, and the natural world. Through beautiful imagery, botanical history, and selections from her poetry, participants will see how a love of nature inspired timeless works that continue to captivate readers today.
