Speed Dating Book Club

Have you ever been enticed to attend a speed dating event, then thought, "What would we even talk about?" Have you ever found someone in your book club cute but worried "I don't want to make the vibe weird if they don't feel the same way"? What if these moments could come together into a perfect cacophony of flirtation, sipping, and vague Raymond Carver references? Yes, it's real, and it's our first Speed Dating Book Club.

For the price of each ticket, participants will receive a copy of Raymond Carver's What We Talk About When We Talk About Love (for pick up at Liz's), a glass of wine, and a seat at the event. Read as many or as few stories as you desire in Carver's collection- the book will be our icebreaker for the night. Then you'll simply join us at Liz's Book Bar with resident Cupid/bartender Zoe, be guided through a stressless and candlelit night of paired and SPEEDY connections, and leave with a potential match. This event is open to all peoples of all sexualities, so be ready to find romantic and/or platonic love in your pairings.

Join us if you're shy or outgoing, religiously nonfiction or passively sci-fi, a Montague or a Capulet. All we ask is that you come with kindness and openness, and are excited to potentially leave with a new connection!
