Touch Grass Day-Tripper: Wild Creatives (Candle Making)
Day-Tripper: candle making workshop
Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.
Join us for a candle-making workshop at The C House, a calming two-hour session where you'll immerse yourself in the art of crafting scented soy wax candles. Discover the therapeutic blend of creativity and relaxation as you create your own unique candle.
This workshop offers not just a creative outlet but also a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, potentially birthing new friendships and connections along the way. Don't miss this opportunity to indulge in a soothing experience that ignites your senses and sparks joy.
This session will be facilitated by Mary. Mary has owned scent-driven wellness brand The C House since 2020, with the initial aim to introduce wellness into minorities lives on a regular basis.
She then introduced candle making workshops in 2023, as a way to breed community and interactivity in a world where there are very few experiences in real life. With a passion for all things scent and aromatherapy, her fun and friendly approach to the creative processes of candle-making makes for a very unique and special experience.
This workshop and several others are being hosted to celebrate the launch of our first exhibition, Earth to Us. An archive of queer folk of colour in nature. You can find out more about the exhibition here.

About Touch Grass
Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.
We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation — they're about empowerment, healing, and forging meaningful connections.
Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this. We deserve joyful, safe access to the emotional well-being and physical health benefits of nature too.
We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
