Artificial intelligence does more than generate content. It classifies people, assigns risk, directs attention, and increasingly shapes decisions across education, employment, healthcare, and government. As AI becomes part of the infrastructure of teaching, research, public services, and everyday life, many of the systems influencing those decisions remain difficult to see or question. Drawing on work in ethical archives, digital equity, public service, and AI governance, this talk introduces a practical framework for evaluating AI through the lenses of transparency, accountability, equity, and public trust. Faculty, staff, and students will leave with a practical framework for asking better questions before integrating AI into their teaching, research, work, and everyday decisions.
