Reading the Body Through Chinese Medicine - A Weekend Workshop in Seattle
Learn practical Chinese medicine skills and how to read patterns in the energetic body. Join us for the full weekend or choose one day.
Saturday, Nov. 7: 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
Sunday, Nov. 8: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
Led by Erin Masako Wilkins of Herb Folk and Clare of Spiral Guide Herbs, this hands-on weekend explores how the body reflects patterns of imbalance - and how seasonal foods, herbs, movement, and traditional practices can support wellness.
On Saturday, Reading the Body Through Chinese Medicine introduces foundational Chinese medicine concepts through tongue reading, spine assessment, pattern recognition, and guided practice with gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, and herbal preparations. Abby Rappoport will lead us in QiGong.
Saturday includes a lunch break from 12:00–1:30 p.m. Participants may bring lunch or explore nearby options.
On Sunday, Cold, Dampness, and the Winter Season in the Body focuses on seasonal resilience, immunity, food therapy, and practical moxibustion techniques. Participants will make moxa with Clare, share a warming seasonal congee, and practice several forms of moxibustion with Erin.
Each day includes instruction, demonstrations, hands-on practice, herbal refreshments, and take-home materials. Sunday includes a congee lunch.
