About the Exhibition
Across 2,000 square feet of exhibition space, López Llamas’s A million more things to keep me awake introduces three major bodies of work: The Magician, a newly commissioned, 25-foot-long sculpture activated by disco ball motors; Glow on, a selection of glow-in-the-dark low relief sculptures; and Lo visible, lo invisible, a single-channel short film. Audiences are guided through these artworks by choreographed lighting that shifts between illumination and darkness. Ghostly figures and disembodied limbs operate as recurring motifs through which the artist stages the instability of perception, inviting viewers to inhabit the porous threshold between material presence and imagined possibility.
