Navigating the school system can be challenging for families, and therapists are often asked to help advocate for children with emotional, behavioral, developmental, or learning needs. This training provides mental health professionals with a practical understanding of the differences between 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Participants will learn about the eligibility process, and how school-based supports are developed and implemented. You will be able to identify when a client may benefit from school accommodations or special education services, communicate effectively with families and school teams, and understand the therapist’s role in supporting educational success while remaining within their professional scope of practice.Presenter: Brian Anerino, LCSWI am a compassionate and experienced therapist with a wealth of knowledge spanning 22 years in the field of social work. For 17 of those years, I dedicated myself to empowering students within the school setting. I have spent the past 12 years honing my expertise in private therapy, providing personalized support to individuals of all ages, families, and community members.
