Lymph Formation and Flow: Understanding interstitial fluid dynamics and lymphangiomotoricity. 1.2 Introduction to Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): History and Philosophy (Vodder, Leduc, Foldi). Principles of MLD: Light pressure, specific sequences, rhythmic movements. Benefits of MLD in general and specifically for post-operative recovery. 1.3 Contraindications and Precautions: Absolute contraindications (e.g., acute infections, DVT, malignant tumors, acute cardiac edema).
