We will start at the Piazza Terracina by the Canal Basin and continue along the East Quay, before crossing the River Exe by Trews Weir suspension bridge to finish at the Transit Shed on the Quay. Along the way we will pause to share stories from the past, about former homes and businesses and the people who lived and worked in them. We’ll tell you about Exeter’s Heritage Harbour status and the traditional vessels that have come to the city because of it. And we will talk about the present and the future too, of the potential of the Canal to once again be a key part of the economy of Exeter providing an eco-route into the heart of the city for people and freight.PLEASE NOTE: In case of the need to cancel this walk due to severe weather or other factors, we will communicate this via email 24 hours in advance.
