Falling Fruit Tree ID Walk

Wild Potomac organizes free events that connect people to their local landscape through building stronger relationships with the trees and plants we are surrounded by. We do this through building pollinator gardens, doing tree plantings, designing food forest installations, conducting tree identification walks and tree care tutorials, as well as organizing tree food tastings and gatherings!

Sligo Avenue Park

Join Wild Potomac and the Community Food Forest Collective on Saturday morning, August 22, from 10am to 12pm, for a walk led by Wild Potomac's Neil Gormley to identify trees that can feed the community. You'll (1) hone your tree ID skills (2) use the Falling Fruit app to find and record trees; (3) learn about opportunities to turn foraged fruit and nuts into food this fall and winter. Meet under the trees near the parking lot at Sligo Avenue Park, 500 Sligo Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
