Tarot Storytelling: create personalized folk tales through narrative tarot reading

with Melinda Lee Holm

For centuries, we humans have told each other stories to help understand and navigate life. These folk tales have no author, they existed as oral traditions before they were ever written, passed down through generations, updated to best serve the needs of the community, entertaining us while teaching us about ourselves and our world.

For her Tarot of Tales, Melinda Lee Holm envisioned a tarot deck that is not only visually inspired by folk tales, but also practically. A tool for teaching users how to think of readings as custom folk tales crafted in the moment to help us navigate life.

In this workshop, we will begin by diving into the world of Tarot of Tales, its symbology, concept, structure, and how it facilitates narrative readings. Then we will learn simple language techniques to take readings with any deck from informative guidance to personal story, and finally practice reading in narrative form.

Workshop will be taught using Tarot of Tales. Participants can bring any tarot deck they choose.

Please bring a tarot deck, notebook, and pen or pencil.
