Interview with Aubrié Costello at Can Serrat

Hi, I’m Aubrié Costello, an artist from Philadelphia, PA (USA).

This November 2026, I am creating a queer documentary healing-arts film project at the International Artist Residency Can Serrat in El Bruc, Spain and I want to feature you in it!

“TORN | Queer Sanctuaries” is an archival art project that preserves queer oral histories about life and love through healing-centered collaboration. Together we will explore how queerness, memory, and sanctuary can be interwoven with the landscapes and rhythms of El Bruc.

Through intimate interview sessions in nature, I will weave queer stories into a living archive that highlights the urgent need for soft safe spaces of safety, belonging, and visibility within the natural world.

The film will be screened at the end of the month at Can Serrat (date TBD) inside a soft safe space fiber art installation created on-site by me to envelope viewers while listening to the intimate stories of others.
